Abierto al Cielo

Abierto al Cielo

Over the Summer of 2013 a total of 40 artists were invited to visit Es Castell (a small town on the Spanish island of Menorca) to paint on its walls in the 3rd edition of the street art festival VANG!.

I chose an abandoned house to paint on. A dolphin and a human figure coming out of its sealed window and door as a process of liberating energies from this old building. These figures represent the natural world guiding the human; the dolphin is in touch with his own energy centre and holds the umbilical cord from the man who has no eyes but an open face.

The text ‘abierto al cielo’, means ‘open to the sky’. A year after I painted the mural the demolition of the roof took place, so the house was indeed opened to the sky.
